U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $1 Million to Develop El Paso Water Land
EL PASO – The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced Tuesday, June 26 that it will award El Paso Water with $1 million to help develop 57 acres of land in Northwest El Paso, located just north of Los Mochis along I-10 near Canutillo. The grant will allow EPWater to install water and wastewater infrastructure, making the area more viable to serve as a warehouse operation site that will be a critical component of a light industrial park.
“This is a win-win for our community,” said Vice President of Strategic, Financial and Management Services. “The grant will help EPWater pay for the infrastructure costs, lessening the impact on our ratepayers – while also maximizing the value of our asset by attracting new business to the area.”
