El Paso Water's Water Conservation Plan serves both as a reporting requirement and as an aspirational blueprint for the next five years.
This Plan has been approved by the Public Service Board and submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Texas Water Development Board.
In addition to presenting our water consumption trends and data, our Water Conservation Plan presents our key water conservation strategies, which include:
- Reducing water waste in utility operations through initiatives such as leak detection
- Maintaining a rate structure that encourages conservation
- Helping our residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional customers to be more water efficient in their indoor and outdoor water use
- Providing educational programming to help local students appreciate the importance of water conservation in the desert
- Reducing water waste in our community through enforcement of relevant ordinances
These conservation measures are integral to El Paso Water's 50-Year Plan, which anticipates population trends, water supply needs and detailed strategies for El Paso Water to continue to provide our customers with a sustainable water supply and contribute to the vitality of El Paso.
